resurrection

resurrection: an installation within the shell of a derelict nineteenth century prison in Savannah, Georgia, for the Savannah College of Art & Design, 2005

inspiration: the form & order of prison structures, the way plants colonise abandoned buildings and the resurrection fern, a native plant that shrivels up and appears to die in periods of drought, bursting into life after rain

materials: scaffolding, aluminium mesh, plastic mesh and plants found on site
